Description
This little study for a larger painting is a memory: A remembrance of many times floating past the tallest bluffs on the Meramec River, Vilander Bluff. I have the privilege of often being on the river with a group of very wise men, men wise in the ways of woodcraft. This is a depiction of one of my friends, Dan Holdinghaus shown in a way I think of him, as one of those trapper and fishing guides from the nineteenth century painted so well by Winslow Homer in the Adirondacks
